Daily photo (50) damp leaf shine

Another seasonal still life- I’ll have to be careful to make sure I don’t get too ‘leafy’! I was struck by the persistent rain today, a sign that we’re well into autumn now. Amazing to think I’ve been doing this for 50 days now…

Daily photo (49) Sheila Hancock

Another photo for work- this time Sheila Hancock was doing a Q & A in the new Quaker Centre. An awkwardly placed mike stand made an otherwise easy shoot rather complicated!

The final straight- applying a bit of oil/wax. Boat now smells wonderfully of oranges…

By far the hardest part was the sanding- really tricky to prevent scratches!

Daily photo (46) preparing to sand

We completed the maple floor in our narrowboat this weekend. A very busy but rewarding few days makes for an interesting triptych!

daily photo (45) leafy pavement

Plenty of these chaps about in the months ahead, but I liked the way this leaf lay on the pavement, catching a little sunlight.

Daily photo (44) guarding the vases

Nice to have a bit of daylight for the daily photo today. I always think skyscraper lobbies in Canary Wharf are quite odd- impossibly clean and ordered spaces. I liked the anonymity/shyness of this chap. The empy vases are a little odd, too.

Daily photo (43) leaves and lines

Another late-night effort!

I liked the even-but-wobbly spacing of the railings, and the placement of the leaves.

Heading home late today, just said to myself ‘I can’t do a daily photo today, it’s too late!’ Then saw this- amazing what happens when you look…

Daily photo (41) multinational gallery

Peeping through a window at the National Gallery in Edinburgh. Seeing the Scottish collection made me think about how hard it is to define/create a nation
